Outside Facilities

Eastwrey Barton is situated in an elevated position overlooking the beautiful woods and fields of the Wray Valley. 

Our garden covers 1.5 acres and provides a number of places to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. There is a large patio facing a southerly aspect where guests soak up the sun.  There are newly planted terraces and lots of flowering shrubs and a number of magnificent trees of many kinds. Our favourites are a lovely oak tree at the bottom of the garden and two large copper beeches which can be spotted when approaching us along the Wray Valley. 

We have a large, private car park allowing space for up to 8 cars.

We provide a lockable cellar for bicycles and other outdoor gear, easily accessible from the lower side of the house, along with cycle washing and maintenance equipment.

For those who enjoy a walk without getting into a car, there is a footpath directly from Eastwrey Barton leading up through the woodlands of Wrey Cleave through a free to roam area to the top from where there are wonderful views. You won’t meet a soul up here.

We love to offer advice on exploring Dartmoor and the local area. We are available at breakfast and each early evening to help you plan your next day.

Our Sitting Room.

There is a guest sitting room with comfortable sofas in front of a wood burner. Here we like to serve tea and home-made cake for guests on arrival.

There is a projector and screen to watch a film or a sports event if you wish.

Through the sitting room is our favourite sun lounge which also looks out to the garden and the view beyond. There is a selection of books for guests to read, as well as a piano that guests are welcome to play.

Out & About

Our Breakfast Room.

Our breakfast room is a lovely sunny room overlooking the patio to the gardens and the stunning view beyond

Adjoining this is the dining room where there is a large framed wall map of Dartmoor and a round rosewood table with maps and guidebooks, ideal for planning your day out on Dartmoor over a drink served from the bar and for playing cards and board-games in the evening.

Family en-suite room with twin beds and double bed settee.

This dual aspect, light and spacious room has country views and ample space for a family of four.

There is crisp, white Egyptian cotton bed linen, a TV, free wifi and a hairdryer.

The large en-suite has a bath and a power shower, luxury towels and complimentary toiletries.
